How Ordering Works
Direct Meds is a B2C pharmacy broker helping customers in South Africa and beyond order medicines through an affiliated supplier. The supplier fulfils orders and arranges shipping; payment is processed externally on its behalf.
1. Find the medicine
Search by product name or active ingredient, or browse by treatment area and condition. Product pages list the available strengths, dosage forms, pack sizes and displayed prices.
2. Compare the exact listing
Check the active ingredient, strength, dosage form and quantity before adding an item to your cart. Where a brand name is used only as a reference, the listing explains that distinction. For a generic-supply listing, review the information about what can vary with available stock.
3. Review the cart and checkout
Before continuing, check the selected product, quantity and currency. The medicine subtotal covers the medicines in your cart. Shipping-inclusive totals are estimates and exclude shipping insurance and the separately charged Secret packaging service. Review delivery, selected extras, eligible discounts and the final total before payment.
Prices are based in USD. Rand prices are converted estimates, not fixed rand quotes. If you view or pay in rand or another currency, exchange-rate changes may affect the final checkout total.
You will continue to an external payment processor acting on behalf of our affiliated supplier. This is the payment step for your Direct Meds order. Prices and availability can change, so the final product, price, supply requirements and delivery choices are confirmed during checkout. Adding an item to the cart does not reserve stock or create an accepted order.
Delivery and paid extras
Our affiliated supplier arranges delivery to South Africa, Namibia and worldwide. Checkout confirms the available dispatch route, delivery charge and estimated arrival time for your address. An estimate is not a guaranteed date.
- Express Delivery: online parcel tracking is available.
- Regular Delivery: online parcel tracking is not available. The order portal remains the place to review an accepted order’s status.
- Shipping insurance: an optional paid add-on providing reshipping cover under its terms. Review its price, coverage and claim conditions at checkout.
- Secret packaging: a separately charged packaging service, distinct from standard protective outer packaging. Review the service details and charge before payment.
The affiliated supplier handles shipping whether or not you add insurance. Free-delivery offers do not include insurance or premium-packaging charges. Check the delivery method, extras and final amount before confirming payment.
Free Regular Delivery applies on orders over US$200. Orders of US$300 or more qualify for free Express Delivery, with an estimated 7-day service confirmed at checkout. These are USD thresholds, not rand amounts; checkout confirms eligibility. See the delivery and order terms for destination requirements and further details.
4. Follow an accepted order
The checkout result contains the order details and the contact route for that transaction. Use the order portal to review its status; online parcel tracking is available for Express Delivery, not Regular Delivery.
When the parcel arrives
Before using a product, compare it with the confirmed order. Check the active ingredient, strength, dosage form, quantity, seal, batch and expiry information. Keep the packaging and raise an issue through the route shown in the order confirmation if an item is missing, damaged, open, expired or materially different.
