Blood Thinners
Anticoagulant tablets and capsules, plus an antiplatelet tablet, cover blood clot prevention and treatment in this range. Eliquis, Xarelto and Pradaxa are among the recognised names here.

Clopidogrel Tablets
75mg
Clopidogrel tablets for preventing heart attacks and strokes. It irreversibly stops platelets from clumping together, so the effect lasts for the life of the cell.
Key points
- Two different families sit under the “blood thinner” label: anticoagulants interfere with clotting, and antiplatelet medicines reduce platelet clumping.
- Three of the five medicines here, Eliquis, Xarelto and Pradaxa, are anticoagulants, and Clopidogrel Tablets and Brilinta are antiplatelet medicines.
- Eliquis and Xarelto share the same mechanism as direct factor Xa inhibitors, while Pradaxa works as an anticoagulant through a different route.
- Bleeding is a safety concern common to anticoagulants and antiplatelet medicines alike, not something unique to one type here.
