Terms of Use

Last updated: 7 September 2026.

These terms apply to the Direct Meds website and cart. The checkout provider’s terms apply to an order it accepts and to the resulting supply and delivery.

Using the storefront

Direct Meds is a commercial medicine storefront for adults. It provides product search, catalogue information, displayed prices and a cart. It is not a South African dispensing pharmacy and does not diagnose, prescribe or provide a pharmacist’s clinical check.

Use the site lawfully and provide accurate information during checkout. Do not use the catalogue or cart as a way to bypass a prescription, consultation, import authorisation, quantity limit or destination restriction.

Listings, prices and order acceptance

Before checkout, compare the active ingredient, strength, dosage form and pack. When a generic listing uses an originator brand as a reference, that does not mean the originator product will be supplied. The exact generic brand or manufacturer can depend on available stock and is confirmed as part of the order process.

Displayed prices, availability and currency conversions can change. Adding an item to the cart does not reserve stock or create an accepted order. The checkout provider confirms the available product, final price, supply requirements and delivery choices before accepting an order.

Delivery, packaging and tracking

Delivery routes are available for South Africa, Namibia, other African destinations and worldwide. Medicine supply and delivery remain subject to the requirements that apply to the product, the person placing the order and the destination. The checkout result is the source of truth for the available route, charges and estimated timing. An estimate is not a guaranteed delivery date.

Orders over US$200 qualify for Free Regular Delivery. Orders of US$300 or more qualify for Free Express Delivery, with an estimated delivery time of seven days. The available service and final estimate are shown at checkout.

Orders are sent in plain, unmarked packaging. For an accepted order, use the dedicated order portal and the contact route in the checkout confirmation to track an order or raise an order-specific question.

South African rules may be relevant to medicines obtained from outside the country. SAHPRA’s importation guidance explains that personal importation of a medicine from abroad requires the relevant authorisation. A listing or cart is not evidence that any supply or import requirement has been met.

Payment options and customer rewards

Checkout can present card payments and supported cryptocurrencies. A 15% crypto discount may be available for supported payments, including BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT, DOGE and BNB.

After a first completed order, eligible customers may receive a bonus card that starts at 5% and can progress to 7%, then 10% on eligible orders. The checkout provider confirms supported payment currencies, eligibility, exclusions and the discount applied before payment. Promotions may change or be withdrawn before an order is completed.

Problems with an order

Before using a product, compare it with the confirmed order. If an item is missing, damaged, open, expired or materially different, retain the packaging and use the order-specific route in the checkout confirmation. The checkout provider assesses any available remedy under its terms.

Direct Meds does not guarantee continuous stock, customs clearance, a delivery date or a medical result. Nothing in these terms removes a consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Medicine information

Catalogue content supports product comparison. It is not personal medical advice and must not be used to start, stop or change treatment without appropriate professional advice. The current patient leaflet and advice from a doctor or pharmacist take priority.

Changes to the site and these terms

Direct Meds may correct product information, prices and these terms when the catalogue or applicable requirements change. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners; naming a product does not claim affiliation or endorsement.
