How does Diclofenac work?
The exact mechanism is not fully understood, but diclofenac sodium blocks cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), reducing the body’s production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins make nerve endings more sensitive to pain signals, so cutting their production eases the inflammation behind conditions like Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Voveran SR releases diclofenac sodium across the day, which is why it comes only at 100 mg. The 50 mg strength is available only in Diclofenac Tablets. Both sit in the Pain & Anti-inflammatories category.
