Key points

  • Vardenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor that increases penile blood flow during sexual stimulation; it does not produce an erection on its own.
  • Do not take vardenafil with nitrate medicines.
  • Levitra is the original brand name for vardenafil; Valif and Super Vilitra are generic versions of it.

Common questions about Vardenafil

What does the 60 mg in Super Vilitra do?

The 60 mg is dapoxetine, a separate active ingredient listed for premature ejaculation. Super Vilitra combines it with 20 mg vardenafil so one tablet addresses both conditions in the erectile dysfunction category. Valif contains vardenafil alone.

Why does vardenafil need sexual stimulation to work?

Vardenafil blocks an enzyme called PDE5 that breaks down a chemical responsible for relaxing blood vessels in the penis. That chemical is released during arousal. Without stimulation, the chemical is not present, so blocking its breakdown has no effect. The medicine supports the body’s own response.
