How does Tadalafil work?

When sexual stimulation triggers the release of nitric oxide, tadalafil prevents PDE5 from breaking down the resulting signal, so smooth muscle stays relaxed and blood flows into the penile tissues.
Without sexual stimulation, tadalafil has no effect. It does not create an erection on its own; it sustains the one your body starts.
